The Mornington Peninsula will take centre stage in 2026, with popular renovation series The Block set to film its next season in Mt Eliza.
Property records confirm that Channel Nine has purchased a 1.35-hectare site at 109 Old Mornington Road for just under $11 million. The block was sold by former racing driver and businessman Rusty French, who bought it in 2007 for about $2.8 million.
The site had previously been earmarked for a subdivision of ten luxury homes, complete with a central tennis court and swimming pool, though those plans never progressed to development.
While Channel Nine has not issued an official announcement, industry speculation intensified this week after one of the show’s regulars appeared to confirm the sale. Further hints came when The Block’s preferred architects, “Nine in Six”, were spotted in the area.
The Mt Eliza purchase marks a return to Victoria’s coastal regions for the long-running reality show, which has previously filmed in Bayside and Melbourne’s inner suburbs.
Filming for the 2026 season is expected to begin next year, with the finished homes likely to go under the hammer towards the end of the series.
