New Superintendent Appointed to Lead Frankston and Mornington Peninsula Police

Superintendent Anne Rudd has been appointed to lead Victoria Police across Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula. With a strong background in police training and leadership, she says her priority is ensuring the community not only feels safe but is safe, through visible policing and stronger connections with residents.

Victoria Police has welcomed Superintendent Anne Rudd as the new Divisional Superintendent of the Frankston and Mornington Peninsula Police Service Areas.

Superintendent Rudd brings more than two decades of policing experience to the role, most recently overseeing the Foundation Training Division at the Victoria Police Academy. For the past five years, she was responsible for the state’s police recruit, Protective Services Officer and Protective Custody Officer training programs. Prior to that, she served as the Yarra Local Area Commander.

In her new position, Superintendent Rudd said her focus will be on ensuring local communities “not only feel safe but are safe.” She outlined a commitment to strengthening the connection between police and residents, delivering a visible and proactive policing presence, and prioritising harm prevention.

Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula offer an exceptional lifestyle blend – from stunning beaches and national parks to vibrant urban centres, award-winning wineries and a strong arts and cultural scene,”

Superintendent Rudd said.

My priority is to make sure people can enjoy everything this region has to offer while feeling secure in their daily lives.”

The appointment follows the return of Acting Superintendent Melissa Rodgers to her role as Local Area Commander of Frankston. Acting Superintendent Rodgers had been filling the position in an interim capacity.

Local residents are being encouraged to welcome Superintendent Rudd as she steps into the role, with police inviting the community to introduce themselves if they see her out and about.
