Mornington Peninsula Shire Council has formally adopted two pivotal strategic documents—the Council Plan 2025–2029 and the Public Health and Wellbeing Plan 2025–2029—which will guide local governance over the next four years.
Community-Shaped Direction for the Peninsula
The development of both plans involved extensive community consultation. Over the previous six months, more than 3,500 residents contributed through surveys, pop-up events, and forums, providing feedback that helped shape the final documents.
Plan Overview and Purpose
- The Council Plan 2025–2029 sets the strategic direction for Council, outlining priorities, planned actions and performance measures to deliver on the Community Vision.
- The Public Health and Wellbeing Plan 2025–2029 complements this by focusing on fostering a healthier, more resilient and inclusive Peninsula, addressing physical and mental health, equity, and supportive community environments.
These plans sit within Council’s broader strategic framework, which also includes the Community Vision 2040, the Financial Plan, the Asset Plan, and annual action and reporting mechanisms designed to ensure accountability.
Council Leadership Speaks
Mayor Councillor Anthony Marsh said the adoption of the plans was a significant step forward.
“These plans are about delivering tangible outcomes, deploying resources where they have the greatest impact, supporting local projects and making the Mornington Peninsula an even better place to live, work and play. Thank you to everyone who shared their ideas, experiences and priorities. You have helped create a balanced, community-driven roadmap for the future.”
