Frankston is preparing for one of its largest community gatherings of the year, with families expected to fill the CBD for the annual Christmas Festival of Light on Saturday 29 November.
City Centre to Host Full Afternoon of Festive Activities
The festival will run from 4.30 pm to 9.30 pm across Davey Street and nearby precincts, offering a full program of markets, performances and themed attractions.
Beauty Park will host the Little Beauty Christmas Twilight Market, where local makers and small businesses will present handmade goods and seasonal gift ideas. The Frankston Arts Centre will feature the Smurfs Winter Wonderland Live Show, while the streets will hold the annual Christmas Parade.
European Christmas Village and Carnival Rides Planned
A European-style Christmas Village will be set up to give visitors a northern winter experience, supported by live music from the Itchy Feet Pep Band. Carnival rides and amusements will operate in Beauty Park and along Baxter Street, and a dedicated photo point will be available for visitors wearing ugly Christmas sweaters.
Tree Lighting and Fireworks to Close the Night
9.15 pm Finale Expected to Draw Large Crowds
The festival will end with the Tree Lighting Ceremony and a fireworks display at 9.15 pm, which traditionally brings the community together for the final moments of the event.
Council Encourages Families to Celebrate Together
Deputy Mayor Steffie Conroy said the festival remained a highlight for many local households.

“For my two children, nothing says ‘Christmas is coming’ quite like the Frankston Christmas Festival. It is the perfect opportunity for families and friends to come together and celebrate one of the most exciting times of year,”
Cr Conroy said.
Noting that she and her family are looking forward to joining the community in welcoming the start of the festive season.
