Unlicensed Motorcyclist Loses Bike After Alleged Drug Driving in Skye

A 50-year-old Dandenong man has lost his motorcycle after allegedly riding under the influence of drugs in Skye. His bike was impounded for 30 days at a cost of $1,115.

A Dandenong man has had his motorcycle impounded after allegedly riding under the influence of drugs in Skye.

Police intercepted the offroad Yamaha motorcycle on Dandenong-Hastings Road shortly after 2pm, where they identified the rider as a 50-year-old man from Dandenong.

An oral fluid test was conducted, allegedly returning a positive result for methylamphetamine and cannabis.

The motorcycle was subsequently impounded for 30 days at a cost of $1,115. The rider is expected to be charged on summons.

Police continue to crack down on drug-affected and unlicensed riders, urging the public to report any dangerous driving behaviour.
