Suspect Tasered and Arrested Following Alleged Assault of Two Officers

A 38-year-old Pakenham man was tasered and arrested after allegedly assaulting two Protective Services Officers at Pakenham Railway Station on Monday evening.

A 38-year-old man from Pakenham has been tasered and arrested after allegedly assaulting two Protective Services Officers (PSOs) during an altercation at Pakenham Railway Station on Monday evening.

Police say the incident occurred around 5.30pm, after the officers responded to reports of youths causing damage to a nearby business. While speaking with two young people, the man is alleged to have approached the scene behaving aggressively before confronting the PSOs.

Taser Used to Subdue Suspect

During the altercation, police allege the man assaulted both officers. One of the PSOs deployed a Taser to restrain the suspect, who suffered a minor injury and was treated at the scene by paramedics.

One of the officers was taken to hospital for further assessment, while the second was treated at the scene.

Man Charged and Bailed

The man has since been charged with two counts of assaulting a Protective Services Officer and one count of possessing a drug of dependence.

He was granted bail and is scheduled to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on 16 March 2026.

Victoria Police have not released further details regarding the alleged drug possession or the damage reported to the nearby business.
