A coordinated police blitz along the Frankston railway line has resulted in 25 arrests, with several serious charges laid as part of a broader crackdown on crime across Melbourne’s southeast.
Victoria Police deployed multiple units—including Transit Division, Dog Squad, and local officers—on Thursday 13 June, targeting anti-social and criminal activity at train stations and public transport corridors.
Among those arrested:
- A 33-year-old Somerville man, who was wanted for assault-related offences and had several outstanding warrants for theft and making threats to kill.
- A 29-year-old Carrum man, allegedly found with methylamphetamine, a box cutter, and a stolen passport.
- A 37-year-old Pakenham man, wanted on two outstanding warrants and two unserved court orders, was allegedly carrying cannabis.
In total, police searched 96 people, issued 11 infringements, and arrested four people in breach of bail conditions. The operation is part of Victoria Police’s ongoing focus on improving public safety and disrupting criminal networks operating via the public transport system.
Acting Inspector Ben Dalrymple of the Transit Safety Division said the results underscore the importance of highly visible enforcement efforts.
“Operations like these send a clear message—using the train network to carry drugs, weapons, or evade justice won’t go unnoticed,” he said.
Police have indicated that similar operations will continue in the weeks ahead, targeting known hotspots along public transport routes across metropolitan Melbourne.
