Police vehicle Rammed in Mornington, Driver Still Not Caught

Police are appealing for information after a stolen Toyota Land Cruiser allegedly rammed a parked police vehicle at a Fleet Street unit complex in Mornington on Friday night before the driver ran off. Detectives want any CCTV or dashcam footage.

Mornington Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public help after a stolen Toyota Land Cruiser allegedly rammed a parked police vehicle at a unit complex on Fleet Street, Mornington, on Friday night.

What police say happened

Victoria Police said officers were called about 7.40pm on Friday 12 December after reports of a suspicious person loitering at the complex. Police said they located a stolen black Toyota Land Cruiser utility in the driveway.

Police allege the vehicle then rammed the parked police car multiple times before becoming wedged in the driveway. The driver got out and ran northbound on Fleet Street, police said.

Officers treated for minor injuries

Police said two male senior constables took cover during the incident and later required medical treatment for minor injuries the following day.

Police said the police vehicle and the property sustained significant damage and the offender remains outstanding.
