Victoria Police are appealing for public assistance following a stabbing in Dandenong that left a 28-year-old man injured.
Police were called to a hospital at approximately 11:30pm on Tuesday 2 April, after the victim arrived with injuries consistent with a stabbing. Investigators believe the incident occurred shortly beforehand on Thomas Street, Dandenong.
The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries, and detectives from the Greater Dandenong Crime Investigation Unit are leading the inquiry.
According to police, the altercation may have involved up to 10 males described as being of Middle Eastern or Mediterranean appearance, aged between 18 and 20.
One suspect, described as around 20 years old with dark hair and a beard, was last seen wearing a Nike T-shirt and a blue jacket. He was observed fleeing the scene after the incident.
As part of the investigation, CCTV footage and images of a man believed to be able to assist with enquiries have been released.
