helsea, Victoria – 4 September 2025 – Detectives from Victoria Police’s Caulfield Divisional Response Unit have arrested three individuals and seized a significant quantity of illicit drugs and cash following search warrants executed early on Monday 1 September.
Police executed warrants at two locations: a residence on Embankment Grove in Chelsea and a factory on Wren Road in Moorabbin. At the Chelsea property, officers discovered approximately 500 g of cocaine, with an estimated potential street value of $150,000, along with $785,000 in cash contained in a suitcase.
Arrests and charges:
- A 22-year-old man from Chelsea was charged with trafficking a commercial quantity of cocaine (carrying maximum penalty of 25 years’ imprisonment), as well as being in possession of MDMA, ketamine, and proceeds of crime. He was remanded, then granted bail in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court, with a reappearance set for 24 November.
- A 23-year-old man from Chelsea was charged with possession of cocaine and bailed to appear in Frankston Magistrates’ Court on 27 September.
- A 25-year-old woman from Ferntree Gully was arrested at the scene but released pending further inquiries.
Following additional inquiries, a further $5,000, believed to be proceeds of crime, was seized during a subsequent search of both the Moorabbin factory and the Chelsea home later in the day.
Police comment:
Acting Detective Sergeant Stu Burnham warned:
“Making the decision to traffick a commercial quantity of drugs can land you in prison for as long as a quarter of a century. … Anyone who thinks they can get away with trafficking drugs is sorely mistaken.”
