Police are appealing for a woman to come forward after an alleged assault and knife incident at Carrum Downs shopping centre on Sunday afternoon.
According to Victoria Police, the incident occurred around 12.00pm on 31 August when a man, described as acting erratically, allegedly assaulted a woman before threatening shoppers with a knife and smashing vehicle windscreens.
Officers responded quickly and arrested the man at the scene. However, by the time police were able to return to the shopping centre to speak with the woman involved, she had left.
Investigators are urging the woman, or anyone who may know her, to contact Senior Constable Crichton at Frankston Police on (03) 9784 5555.
Police are also seeking information from any shoppers or drivers who may have witnessed the man’s behaviour, or who were victims of threats or property damage during the incident.
