13-Year-Old Arrested After Stolen Porsche Leads Police on 3-Hour Pursuit

A 13-year-old boy was arrested after a high-speed chase in a stolen Porsche in Moorooduc. The pursuit lasted nearly three hours and is part of Operation Trinity targeting youth crime and car thefts.

A 13-year-old boy has been arrested after allegedly leading police on an extended high-speed pursuit in a stolen Porsche through Melbourne’s southeast early Tuesday morning.

The chase began around 1.30am in Langwarrin, when police spotted the black Porsche wagon — believed to be stolen — travelling along Quarry Road. Air Wing and ground units tracked the vehicle as it continued through Cranbourne-Frankston Road and onto Mornington.

Despite his young age, the boy reportedly drove for nearly three hours before police successfully deployed stop sticks on Thompsons Road in Cranbourne. The car was eventually brought to a halt on Peninsula Link in Moorooduc around 4.10am.

The 13-year-old, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was arrested at the scene and is expected to be interviewed over the incident.

The dramatic pursuit is part of a broader pattern being targeted by Operation Trinity, Victoria Police’s major crackdown on youth crime involving car thefts and burglaries. The operation has resulted in over 1,700 arrests in 2024 alone, many involving minors.

Police are urging anyone with information or dashcam footage to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a report at crimestoppersvic.com.au.
