A second white shark sighting in as many days has been reported off Portsea, with a three metre shark logged about 50 metres offshore on Monday 29 December 2025.
The latest report was lodged at 3.41 pm on community shark alert app Dorsal by user VICDSF and lists a “sighting from water” involving a single shark. The notes state that the animal was filmed close to a boat while the occupants were fishing off Portsea, and an accompanying image appears to show the shark swimming just below the surface beside the vessel.

It follows a separate white shark sighting at Portsea Beach on Sunday 28 December 2025.

Could this be the same shark reported on 28 December, or another individual moving through the area? At this stage there is no confirmed information to determine whether the two sightings relate to the same animal.
The sighting was submitted via community shark alert app Dorsal, which records user reports with details such as estimated shark size, distance from shore and time of sighting.
