Firefighters have brought a house fire in Crib Point under control after emergency services were called to Dartnell Close on Sunday afternoon.
An advice message issued by the Country Fire Authority earlier in the day confirmed the fire was not yet contained at the time of notification and that smoke would be visible from surrounding areas including Bittern, Crib Point and HMAS Cerberus.

Authorities have not released information regarding the cause of the fire, and there are no confirmed reports of injuries.
A video appearing to show the burning home has circulated online. The original source of the footage has not been verified.
Residents were advised to stay informed and monitor conditions, although there was no immediate threat to the broader community. Further updates are expected from emergency services as more details become available.

Initially they asked for 4 pumper units to attend but they had trouble getting enough water, so called for tankers as the fire spread from one house to the next house. At one stage they had 17 units there, and ran hoses for long distances requiring Disney St closure.
I was listening to the CFA radio to get those details.
Be interested if there is another story here. Is the Crib Point water main pressure adequate? Have South East Water under invested in in-ground water infrastructure? I cannot remember the last time significant water mains work was undertaken to the town. So many house blocks that in the 1990’s had only one home now have in some cases 5 to 6 units. Has water main infrastructure lagged against town dwelling growth?
A significant percentage of the town is declared bushfire zone, so l trust South East Water have in place an adequate water supply.
