Peninsula Leisure to Take Over Centenary Park Golf Course Management

Centenary Park Golf Course will be managed by Peninsula Leisure, a wholly Council-owned organisation, from July 2026, with Frankston City Council assuring a smooth transition and ongoing community access.

Centenary Park Golf Course will be managed by Peninsula Leisure Pty Ltd from July 2026, marking the beginning of a new chapter for Frankston City’s only public golf course.

Frankston City Council confirmed the decision at its 8 September meeting, with the move designed to maximise community benefit, reinvest in the facility, and strengthen Frankston’s standing as a hub for sport and recreation in Melbourne’s south-eastMedia Release 29 September 2025….

Acknowledgement of Clublinks

Councillor Cherie Wanat, Chair of the Frankston City Sports Liaison Committee, thanked Clublinks — the current managers since 2019 — for their contribution.

“Clublinks has delivered exceptional service and care for Centenary Park Golf Course over the past six years,” Cr Wanat said.

“Their professionalism has been invaluable, and this decision is in no way a reflection of their performance. On behalf of Council and our community, I sincerely thank them for their contribution.”

Confidence in Peninsula Leisure

Peninsula Leisure, a wholly Council-owned organisation, already manages Peninsula Aquatic Recreation Centre (PARC), Pines Forest Aquatic Centre, and Frankston Skate Park. The group has been recognised for excellence, including multiple awards at the 2025 Aquatics and Recreation Victoria Awards.

Cr Wanat said Peninsula Leisure will bring a:

This experience gives us great confidence that Centenary Park will continue to thrive and offer fantastic experiences for members, visitors, and families.”

Transition and continuity

Peninsula Leisure CEO Kath Thom said the organisation was looking forward to working with the golf community.

“We’re delighted to continue to partner with Frankston City Council as we take on the management of Centenary Park Golf Course, which plays such an important role in supporting health, wellbeing and community connection in Frankston. We look forward to getting to know the golf community, working with the Golf Club, and growing the game of golf for everyone,” Ms Thom said.

Council has committed to a smooth 10-month transition, with activities, programs, and access at the course to remain unchanged. Efforts will also be made to retain existing staff to ensure operational continuity.

About Centenary Park Golf Course

Established in 1938 and relocated to its current site in 1974, the course was renamed Centenary Park in 1986. The 18-hole, par-72 course remains a popular destination for locals and visitors, with recent upgrades completed as part of a master plan.
